By-The-Canal Fiddle Camp
The Canadian Grand Masters Fiddling Association holds a fiddle camp every summer, known as the By-The-Canal Fiddle Camp. The camp is held at the RCMP Campsite, Long Island Locks, Manotick, Ontario, 10 kilometers south of Ottawa.
Our fiddle camp is designed for fiddlers and pianists to learn old time tunes and piano accompaniment. The emphasis is on playing by ear; however, some music is available.
This is an opportunity to learn from some of the best musicians in Canada in a relaxed setting where we want you to have fun while you learn. If you love traditional fiddling and have a basic knowledge of playing, this camp is for you. Piano players should have a basic knowledge of piano and chords.
We have classes for everyone, young and old, and for all levels of playing.
